Many Thais have the tendency of getting things done in the easy way even though it is dangerous, especially along the highway and one way street. They will just go against the moving traffic along the edges and suddenly cut through the lane to continue their path, thinking they have the "right of way to go". I have personally encountered this many times while riding along the highway in the motorcycle lane. Hence I always make a point to switch on all the flash lights when there is any vehicle moving in a suspicious way against the traffic. Mostly such vehicles would be 4 wheelers and they don't bother to pay attention on the oncoming motorcycle.

She wasn't even the most skilled reverser in the world, a lot of the time she was in the inside lane unable to keep the car on the hard shoulder, what a 100% dunderhead! 😩

Gonna cost her more than an extra 20 minute detour

See worse every day to avoid a 2-minute detour, 3-4 children on board the bike also.

Not the smartest move.

Not the smartest move but the rear reverse lights were on and she was avoidable. Thai law staes whomever rearends is at fault.

It was not a rear end collision. The woman was illegally driving in reverse. She was not stopped, nor moving forward.  In effect, this was a head on collision.

Maybe you've been on the waccy tobaccy to even attempt to support driving backward one kilometre against the flow

Indeed, there is no rear end in reverse.

In several jurisdictions, a collision in reverse gears also puts automatically the reversing car at fault.
