Pompies Posted March 14, 2023 #291504 Share Posted March 14, 2023 Hello from the frequently most polluted city in the world, Chiang Mai. We no longer recognise Thailand as the Land Of Smiles because if you live here it is the Land of Snot. If you are visiting please remember to bring boxes of tissues and eye drops because you certainly will need them even if you wear your N 95 mask all day.

What a load of garbage ... you're obviously reading too many BS media stories Chiang Mai, Thailands 2nd largest Province, also a city, is nowhere near Quote most polluted city in the world It's false reporting. 9 times out of 10 Chiang Mai isn't even the most hazy city in Thailand and well down the International list. Yes the smoke has been bad for the last week but it's all across Asia.
BigHewer Posted March 14, 2023 #291534 Share Posted March 14, 2023 This is one of those surveys where I wonder who they sent out to check the prices and what they were doing. Thailand’s days as the cheapest option are long gone. Compared to Europe sure, but regionally, no way. Myanmar, Laos, PI, Cambodia all cheaper. Indonesia about on par and Malaysia fast catching up.
Saunk Posted March 14, 2023 #291624 Share Posted March 14, 2023 Those daily prices quoted by Kiplinger for the various countries' daily expenses are way off, these places are much more expensive than that unless you're staying in hostels.

The hotels come out to 726baht, that seems extremely low That being said, there is still great deals to be had on hotels And on nights I was solo, I was spending 1200-1400 baht for a decent night out Stayed here in a nice villa beachfront for 100cad (pic) Stayed here, we love this hotel for 38usd(link) https://www.google.com/search?q=centra+by+centara+phu+pano+resort+krabi+pantip&rlz=1C1GCEJ_enCA874CA874&sxsrf=AJOqlzXcDDzz4ag_pPxOLW-5q6kYp5hFsA:1678801827162&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjfpbmUyNv9AhUvJEQIHckcDqwQ_AUoAnoECAEQBA&biw=1920&bih=1097&dpr=1
