Of course there is no record of a fine, the cash has gone straight into the corrupt pocket of yet another corrupt police officer fleecing foreign tourists! What a surprise that the police do not want to get t the bottom of it, most if not all of them are after all guilty of the same thing!

NEVER pay on the road. Unless you are happy with the reduced fine or have a camera running

So the officer initially asked for 4000BHT then reduced it to 2000BHT which is still four times the amount of the official fine and there is no record of the infraction or fine.

But there is no issue to investigate 🤔🤔🤔

And make sure the amount paid is clear - many years ago I got a fine for littering (the police were watching exchange booths waiting for foreigners to drop their receipts), the amount was written in Thai words and turned out to be two hundred baht, not the two thousand baht that I actually had to pay.
