Loki (TV series - 2021)

I don't usually watch superhero movies / series because they're all so predictable.

This 6 episode series is amazing though and also features Owen Wilson. Our protaganist (for those unaware) is the God of mischief (Loki) - and this is a multiverse story so there are plenty of different Lokis' to meet! We start off with Loki being taken in for questioning by the TVA - (not Thai visa 555) the Time Variance Authority where he learns that the timeline is being controlled by 3 'god like' creatures who protect the 'sacred timeline' from variances such as Loki. Loki teams up with Owen Wilson to prevent the collapse of the TVA...Or so he thinks...

Well worth a watch, and it's only 6 episodes long. Season 2 will come out sometime next year.

Watched a while back and enjoyed that to but somebody also recommend "Pig" which frankly I stopped watching after an hour. "The Mule" another good movie though.

I saw a review of The Mule but I never watched it https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7959026/
I d/l Pig on the same recommendation, but haven't got around to watching it so far. Spending too much time on here.

Lorelei

Might not be everyones cup of tea, but it is worth a gander.

I enjoyed it, some very nice scenes in there.

This review explains it very well:

Not sure if she's related to Mark Kermode - anyone know?

Folye's War

This show is very well done without the blood and violence. 4 seasons of a very good detective. Taking place during and slightly after WW2

I see according to IMDB there were 8 series (2002-15):    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0310455/

I checked because I vaguely remember reading about it, but never saw the series. It looks like the something I would go for.

The only problem with all these recommendations, I end up downloading more than I will ever get around to watch.
Especially spending too much time on here. Oh bugger!  ?

You are correct it does have 8 seasons and I think I just had a Freudian slip. After the war and folye moves to london I sought of lost interest. The original series are worth the watch if you like shows like Morse and Lewis.

Because you said you do not have much time this series Poirot with David Suchet. Is also enjoyable and only 13 seasons you can do it in no time.

This Sporting Life (1963)  https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057578/?ref_=ttfc_fc_tt

A classic British film (B&W) 2hr 14m Drama about a rugby player feeling lonely so starts a relationship with his landlady in the hope of finding a reason to live.

I've watched it again, the first time was only six years ago.

I got around to watching Pig two days ago. On a positive note,  I know I won't need to watch it again.
It was just about OK-ish. Don't break your neck to watch it. Pretty slow moving.

Just Finished:

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World

As good as it was in 2003, the battle scenes, terrific.

⚔️

Not much else to do here, been pouring with rain for the last 24 hours. ?️ Dog's not happy, hasn't been outside for more than 10 minutes today. Says he's feeling rough...?

Lie with Me (2021) Channel 5 UK     https://www.bt.com/tv/drama/lie-with-me-cast-date-channel-5

A British woman relocates to her husband’s hometown of Melbourne to regnite their marriage. The couple hire a nanny for their two young children – a decision that will lead to murder.

Interesting a UK Channel made a series in Australia. I began watching this, it started as good, run of the mill stuff. By the time I got to episode three, I was hooked. The plot slowly but surely drew me.

Well worth watching. The complete series (only four 45 minute episodes) is on MagnetDL as one d/l.

I suffered through it, hoping it would get better as it went along. Nothing could be further from the truth. Nicholas Cage never met a script he wouldn't do. IT WAS HORRIBLE!

Yup, it just wasn't what it thought it was. Shame really, I kind of got what they were trying to say, but they failed.
