This looks like it might be ok, but cannot find a decent torrent. The only ones I have seen, are dubbed into Hindi or Italian.

Anyway, if anyone ever looks at this thread, perhaps they could try & find a torrent with eng subs.... please?

Torrentday.com has one that is French subtitled, and you can get English subs at subscene.com

Yorkshire Firefighters

Haven't watched any of them yet - there are 3 episodes available on tpb.

Probably quite good, I reckon.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000wpp3

I watched the first episode last night. Really good so far.
A documentary that's just finished on BBC, following fire crews in Leeds. All four episodes are on tpb now, although a couple are a little slow downloading.

I see it's produced for the BBC by Wise Owl Films. They seem to specialise in documentaries from t'North: https://www.wiseowlfilms.com/our-work   I don't know how much is around to d/l though?

S01E01 of Stephen.

Available now, at all good torrent sites near you.😁

I've just finished watching all three episodes of this (available to download already). I thought it was very good. I got pretty fed up with Steve Coogan as Alan Partridge, but in this serious role he was great.
Well worth watching.

I've only watched s01e01, didn't know all three were available, so thank you.

Hugh Quarshie as Stephen's father, played his part very well, but then he does have a lot of acting experience.

I used to like Steve Coogan but after a while I just found him childish. Then there was the time when he was on Top Gear, having had way too much beak.

He's good in this, though.

Have you watched Vigil yet?

S01E01 nearly blew my socks off - really exciting!

Vigil:  It's new to me. It says 'S01/S02 available now'.

I can only see S01 on IMDB and according to that appears to be in the process of being shown on TV right now?

Dreadful bio pic, as most of them are, barely touches on her having a baby at 12 and another 2 years later, possibly at least one by her promiscuous preacher father. White washed history, if we can still say that, ruined her sisters careers and was a total bitch by many accounts. Decent singer though, so all must be forgiven when making a film.

Haven't watched it as yet; the reviews aren't that great though.

Surprisingly, The Guardian doesn't rate it either.

Stillwater 2021 - Matt Damon

"An American oil-rig roughneck travels to Marseille, France, to visit his estranged daughter, in prison for a murder she claims she didn't commit. Confronted with language barriers, cultural differences and a complicated legal system, he soon builds a new life for himself as he makes it his personal mission to exonerate her."

Apparently based on Amanda Knox

Available on the bay

Stillwater  (2021)  2hrs 19mins

I watched it last night. I wasn't sure whether to watch it or not, as I don't watch many American films.
It was worth it, even though it was a long film. Pleased there was no pointless violence, but instead a good story to keep your attention.

As IMDB lists it: A father travels from Oklahoma to France to help his estranged daughter, who is in prison for a murder she claims she didn't commit:  https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10696896/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Yes, I enjoyed it too, but his daughter was 'orrible, I didn't feel sorry for her, at all.

Matt Damon played his part very well.

Yesterday, I watched "Protege" with Maggie Q and Samuel L. Jackson.  If you like them full of action and a little blood, this one is worth it.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6079772/

2021 Protege should be on PLEX soon.  The wife loves a good blood and guts action movie.
I usually select ENG subtitles though she'll suss out the plot regardless of accents.

American Rust

This looks good, Jeff Daniels stars as Police Chief Del Harris in a southwest Pennsylvania drama.

When the woman he truly loves sees her son accused of murder, Harris is forced to decide what he's willing to do to protect him.

Klem (2017-2020)   (aka Blood Pact)  https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5544138/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

A Dutch drama series about a man who works for the tax authorities and becomes friends with a criminal after their young daughters become friends. Then the tax man accidentally saves the criminal’s life.

I thought it was very good and would recommend it.

So far I’ve only watched S01, but right now I’m already downloading S02 and S03. Each series has ten episodes.

It’s in Dutch with hard-coded English subtitles.
Note: If you happen to watch the subtitles with the sound off, just be aware (in S01) there are three or four episodes with five minutes of English dialogue where the subtitles stop. That caught me out!

9/11: Inside the President's War Room  (2021)  1hr 30mins
Has anybody watched this documentary yet? It's a BBC/AppleTV production.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15010478/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

It was a documentary from the prospective of seeing it all unfold from the inside of the Bush administration. No narration, just those involved at the time telling their own story, which made it more interesting.

Do you mean:' The Fog of War: Eleven Lessons from the Life of Robert S. McNamara'  (2003)?
Have you seen it - what did you think of it?

Excellent documentary exploring the fundamental problem the American govt had in winning Vietnam... a must watch.
