One to watch. Asian tourists seem to be very fickle, and previous "temporary" dips in numbers, such as the drop off in Japanese visitors after the 2004 tsunami,  have often failed to rebound back to the previous levels.

I agree and think that’s especially true when opening up is done in stages. I know of a number of people who were put off visiting Thailand as a result of quarantine and then PCR on arrival. For some reason, in their mind, it remains a problem even though it’s gone away. It’s almost as if they see their visits to Thailand as tainted and have moved on to new destinations. 
 

Im sure in time it will recover but it won’t be like flicking a switch.
