Why not spread the load a little - reschedule some of the Phuket international flights (and tourists) into Krabi Airport, whose international terminal was extended just as Covid struck?  Phuket Airport is very busy, many of the tourists arriving actually want the Krabi area anyway, not Phuket, and yet Krabi Airport has very very few international flights arriving.

For example, pre-Covid Qatar flew Doha - Krabi but that service stopped for Covid.  Now Qatar have 3 flights per day into Phuket and still none into Krabi.  Move one of the three to Krabi, along with some of those from Russia, China and India.

The majority want to go to Phuket - they don't want to be landed at an airport that is at best another two to three hours away, especially after what could easily be a ten or fifteen hour flight.

Just transfer all the security personnel in Phuket once a year and bring in fresh form other regions so that no one will establish a permanent connection with the underworld. That will reduce many issues of course it cannot be fully eradicated as it is very well deep routed in all systems. And also establish a central team which can just go in without any warning and take the necessary actions bypassing the local security personnel. That way it is more transparent and more control in a matrix system. Anything that goes through the local security personnel will be diluted and diverted eventually.

Hilarious how locals (who mostly aren't from Phuket to begin with) are worried about foreigners encroaching on their territory - in their over-entitled little minds they're the only ones who should be allowed to rip off and scam tourists. Fun fact: if they weren't ripping off tourists so much then there wouldn't be room for "foreign mafia" to operate - they are the ones who are overpricing everything and making it worthwhile for foreigners to undercut them. May they choke on the medicine they brewed.

As far as infrastructure goes it's even more ridiculous - Phuket is literally the most expensive place in Thailand, with a huge amount of money (and taxes) flowing in - now do the math, how does a place with so much income lack so much in infrastructure? where is that money going?
