I don't understand why he was fired.

Isn't it standard operating practice for those caught breaking the law just get transferred to a new post?

Foolish question! He wasn't sacked because of accepting bribes, but (obviously) for not paying further up the line.

So, in effect this is an INTERNAL investigation. Can't see much coming out of it... something like this should be handled by the police - those with credibility - not people who have probably been on the receiving end of brown envelopes from this same 'accused'. What has Big Joke got on his desk at the moment? Seems to have been very quiet for a while... making too many waves that are upsetting the bank balances further upstream on other cases?

Corruption runs so rampant in Thailand. This is not a surprise and certainly not shocking. Better educated people, exposing corrupt activity through social media and the media and a collective will to change the status quo are the ingredients for a better tomorrow.

The circus only gets more entertaining.

Thai PBS reports the 'accused' has filed suit against seven officials with the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases for malfeasance in office, depriving him of his freedom,  presenting false evidence against him, intrusion into his office, and criminal association.

He says the seven hatched a plot to lure him into taking bribes.

So, he wasn't really corrupt, but lured into corruption by others who were jealous of his position? Sounds like good background for a book... of fiction 🤪
