2,000 years ago, the Romans cleaned their teeth with a sharp stick dipped in their own Urine.  They also cured all their leather using Urine.  The Military in the UK still teach the drinking of ones own Urine as a survival technique.   Allegedly, in Pattaya Soi 6, you can find some other, rather exotic use of the stuff.  I doubt it does any real harm, however weird it sounds.

They do, but there is a lot more to it than that. Perhaps in a desert survival or lost at sea survival situation, drinking your own pee may buy you a day or two. It’s not a whole lot better than drinking sea water and there are other bacterial risks. Survival techniques in other locations offer much better alternatives.

Could you imagine going into an alley and sniffing or brushing your teeth with the stench type left.. It’s free.

Dog excrement was also part of the process for the finest leathers.
