With all due respect to true love (if that's what this is) - the guy is violating his visa and working illegally. Now that he's gotten media attention he will likely be arrested and deported. Also odd that at 61 he does not have any other sources of income. Or maybe he already spent all his savings on his boyfriend so now is (literally) reaching for scraps? Sadly this is quite common- a lesbian/tomboy I know had to return to US empty handed when her "girlfriend" dumped her because money's run out. At the end of the day a hooker bf/gf is interested in money and money only, and will milk their victims dry and discard them when there isn't any more to milk.

Pathetic. The  best that this man can find is a vagabond destitute who most likely was a sex trade worker back in Pattaya. No one forced the Belgian man to marry. Sounds more like he is a mangy scoundrel who conned some poor woman back in Belgium and then abandoned her and his child. Plenty of gay men leave their wives after declaring themselves gay, but a lot more continue being loving responsible  fathers and do not abandon their kids. It takes a special type of  irresponsible coward to abandon a kid.

I agree. Ask the thousands of Thai women whose kids are now being cared for by Western men as a result of the Thai man simply finding a new GF and walking away. 
 

A number of times I’ve asked Thai women where the father is and does he pay any money to support their kid. The answer is often as simple as - Oh he have new GF now and no money.

Wow. For turning to collecting recylable garbage he sure hits the bottom of the barrels. Why would collecting recylables be prohibited? It is not like it is true work, more like a hobby or helping save the world. Is it also illegal to eat out of garbage cans? Taking food away from Thai rats?
