Even with the camera etc in the police station the cops only need to take them off the premises to “persuade” people. Proposal: at the time of arrest the accused has a camera attached to them that can only be removed at the court in the presence of the accused’s lawyer. I am sure there are a million holes in that idea but it is better than leaving the foxes in charge of the chicken coop.

That torture is allowed and obviously encouraged speaks volumes  about the lack of integrity and absence of professionalism of the Thai police. It illustrates that the Thai judicial system is unreliable because it allows torture. My not knowing that torture was legally allowed in Thailand speaks to my naivety.  Is it any wonder so many people are shaken down by the police?
