EdwardV Posted July 7, 2021 #8267 Share Posted July 7, 2021 It’s “punching above your weight”, or if you just have to use a baseball analogy “hitting above your average”. As to the cost question, while Phuket prices might have stayed about the same as before. Phuket was arguably the most expensive location in Thailand. Saying it’s about the same isn’t a selling point. thai3 Posted July 7, 2021 #8271 Share Posted July 7, 2021 Looked up the Poppies resort for next year- almost 8k baht a night, you would have to have more money than sense to pay that for Samui. Looks nice but not at that price.

Looks nice but not at that price. Poppies is a boutique hotel, fabulous, definitely not run-of-the-mill. There's plenty of hotels and resorts for under 2,000 bt p/n. Spa Resort at Lamai for example >
thai3 Posted July 7, 2021 #8381 Share Posted July 7, 2021 Never understood why small hotels are described as 'boutique' that's a shop, or small company offering special services, sounds a bit dodgy if the later.
