Government officials from Indonesia – a country famous for having some of the strictest drug laws in the world – flew to Thailand to learn about the kingdom’s liberal medical cannabis policies this morning. Blind leading the blind. Why not look to countries like Canada or US states that already have years of experience with it? Are they that afraid of learning anything from westerners? Is it a pride thing?

Thailand’s rollout has been comically bad. I’m glad it’s available now but they bungled it pretty badly and could have really benefited if they didn’t think that all ideas must originate in Thailand  

I get that other countries’ laws aren’t “plug and play” for other cultures, but it seems like Thailand goes out of their way to avoid any outside ideas or research.
