I don't understand why the writer, Mr. Whitman, feels the need to editorialize throughout the story as if he was there.

"A likely story!"

"A commotion? He stabbed the guy!"

"These are just everyday events in the land of happy marriages, where couples seem to be able to find any excuse for torturing one another including stealing the lottery winnings, and filming each other having sex with strangers."

His opinions add nothing to our understanding of the story or its content.  A poor example of 'journalism', in my opinion.
