A man who is receiving medical treatment in a Chon Buri hospital was brutally attacked in his hospital room by debt collectors. Four men entered his room, beat him, and then grabbed his car keys and took off. They found his car in the parking lot of the hospital and stole it and drove away. You take a loan and you pay up. Simple rules.

It is their job for these loan sharks to collect the payments. We do not have details from the other side and I believe he must have default in many payments. Sometimes loan sharks are more forgiving than the Banks (legal loan sharks) and if you take them for granted, you will be treated extremely well by the loan sharks, so don't blame them.

Personal debt has never been higher and NPL, non performing loans, exceed 1 trillion baht.  And that's via legal borrowings such as cars and personal loans.

It's only getting worse as the cost of living increases and private borrowers will be squeezed harder by the loan shark mafia over the coming year or so.

Watch new vehicle sales fall whilst 2nd hand car yards fill with repossessions.

Define Mafia. All sort of types of people joined as an organised crime. And so I will say, yes they are. There is an old lady who rides an electric scooter here in CM always going around collecting her loans (won't say what area), but it is well known she is a loan shark. Maybe one of the softer ones but just one of many who are.

We see these collectors with pillian rider on motorcycles all of the time. Common knowledge for what they are doing, and I really don't think you want them to show up or catch you out somewhere to collect. Maybe their names are not Guido or Boris, but they certainly are.
