I wonder how effective this might be?
I've read about people in this region cutting the ankle bracelet off and disappearing.

There would need a lot of replacement batteries for 10 years of use.
I remember after the Tsunami warning system was installed in southern Thailand, some of them stopped working because no one had bothered to replace the batteries.

Ridiculous. Better they have to check in with a parol officer every other week. Don't they have chips that would do the same thing and can ping when they come into contact with some things that can read them? If they don't then they shouls.

Discrimatory! Why criminals with violent crimes against men don't need that?
