The body of the 34 year old French tourist who went missing on Saturday has been found in a crevice on the side of Phanthurat Mountain in Surat Thani province in southern Thailand. Gollio Cyrit Tizzlano is believed to have fallen off a cliff into the deep gorge. Police said they will need to abseil down the mountainside to retrieve his body, which is expected to take several hours. At 12pm today, the search party located Tizzlano’s body after police tracked his phone signal to the cliff where he fell.

R.i.P.

5 days, and still a phone signal? Must be a Nokia 3310, then, methinks.

Or did someone get the idea, to look at the records for his sim?

I did and do, sometimes, solo hikes. Or bike tours. 

And for this accidental reasons, I let google maps share my locations with a link to one or two friends. Which sets a last known location, a search party would know where to start.

It will not help, in case I brake my neck. But in other situations, the chance to get found is closer to the same/next day, then to days after I started a trip.

What I find worrying here: He got lost in Saturday, the search started on Tuesday? Why did the hotel not react on "no one slept here from Saturday to Sunday"? 

All his things in the room, knowing that he was going into the wild , ....!
