Im just amazed that so many armchair judges, who have seen and heard one version of events, can make such rapid conclusions. They may well be a pair of complete tossers who need throwing in jail for a year. That doesn’t mean that in jail they should then be subjected to beatings just because they are foreigners. Don’t tell me you condone such racist actions?

But your comments also appear to have biased directly against 'one version of events'. How does that equate to your ideal of equality?

The age for Vincent Raymond is incorrect:

Police identified the suspects as Vincent Raymond Bugeya, 34, and Julien Gerard Rene Vincent, 28.

That’s an absurd comment. By definition, knowing only one side of events leads to bias. I’m saying I would like to know both sides of the story before deciding any guilt or innocence. It’s how justice should work.

Golden rule no. 1, if you have a problem with a Thai walk away, forget it. It doesn't matter if you are right or wrong you will not come out of it well.

Certainly accurate sound advice. That said, it’s a sad indictment on Thai society. I’m fairly sure such facts won’t find their way in to an Amazing Thailand holiday brochure.

what video are you watching becos ... no where on this video does it show the Thai attacking the French guys.

This video is edited to cut out everything that led to the final blow - probably on purpose to make it seem like a vicious attack. There is another video taken from a car where you see Frenchie down while a bystander tries to pull the Thai away, then Frenchie gets up and they face each other boxing-style and the Thai trying to land some blows but getting knocked down from a punch. After that Frenchie tried to walk away but Thai got up and came kicking him, at which point he fought back and that's what you see in this video.

That's the problem with videos that don't tell the whole story - they can heavily influence public opinion by editing out the "inconvenient" parts.

So where is this other video, is it a secret?

Great example of waiting until ALL evidence is gathered. The real question is will it be gathered. I don’t know who’s to blame; possibly all of them involved. However, right now, it’s the French nationals that are being detained and a Thai National is in hospital. We may never know the full truth. If these guys were driving a new Porsche then they are likely to have the money to make it go away.

This video just appear to show them fighting, not who started it and if the victim was the aggressor or just defending himself. I'm sure the police have more footage to determine facts.

If the 2 Frenchmen were merely defending themselves why would they be denied bail? 🤔

Oh please. Come on. You know Thailand better than that?

Here, some earlier video filmed thorugh a car window which starts off with the shirted Frenchman on his backside on the road. So, unless the Frenchman likes sitting on the road, the Thai guy had presumably put him there beforehand. The Frenchman gets up, receives a kick to the shins then knocks the Thai man down with a punch. The Frenchman half-turns away and receives a further kick and it then finishes with the tragic results seen in the later video.

So it seems there was some altercation between the 2 beforehand in their vehicles and it didn't just come out of nowhere. Also, not so one-sided as the initial video suggested.

If there is a bar fight in North America and someone falls and hit their head

The person who made them fall is usually charged

Even if it was a mutual fight

Seen people go to jail for manslaughter for being unlucky that the person they hit fell and hit their head
