I totally understand what you are saying, I know so many people in the same situation. And a lot of them end up getting dodgy retirement visas via "agencies" as they do not wish to transfer 800 000 bths to a Thai account and not necessarily cause they do not have the money. And of course, a good portion of the money spent on these dodgy visas end up in brown enveloppes, so 90 days would mean almost the end of these dodgy visas and the brown enveloppes that go with them... ah, perhaps that is where the problem lies...
I am a US expat. 30 days is a joke and I am not broke. 90 days is my bare minimum. Lived there for years and had a great time, but getting older now, and my bank account is getting bigger and I am not interested in a 30 day trip.. If from the US , the SS check is over 2K/mo. If they do not want it then many others do..
I am not interested in the retirement visa. Just want a place to hang out 6 months a year.
Not interested in working, buying any property, maybe paying a live in for the 90 - 180 days is all I want.
May head to the Philippines next year to check that out.
I recall when I opened a business here back in '04 needing a full physical. I walked into a public hospital in Bangkok, was attended to in less than half an hour, and the total bill was 590 baht. At a time when the exchange rate was USD 1 : THB 43.5.
And from the great independent investigative journalist John Solomon's Just The News:
"There'd be so much activity coming into his address, in this case, Hunter Biden's businesses, that he obviously would have to be aware," Johnson said of the president. "So, again, I just use the word obvious, It has been so obvious for so long, that Biden Inc. is a corrupt enterprise. And that this president is corrupt, that he is compromised.
"And he fully was aware of this, that he fully benefited from it. The members of his family benefited from all these these millions dollars flowing in from countries that are adversarial to America," he added.
Johnson's revelation came just a few hours before Special Counsel David Weiss unveiled a nine-count indictment against Hunter Biden in federal court in California alleging the first son engaged in a years-long tax evasion scheme in which he avoided paying $1.4 million in federal taxes on millions in foreign incomes from countries like China, Ukraine and Romania.
@Marc26 "But where's da evidence?"
