In the early hours of the 06th Oct 2022, a foreign tourist was hit over the head with a skateboard in a dispute with a Thai man in Bangkok's Khaosan Road and suffered a serious head injury requiring hospital treatment.
The Thai man, 33 year Phawit (nickname Ken), who runs a shop in Khao San Rd selling soda-infused cannabis drinks, fled to his home in Pakkret, Nonthaburi but was later arrested by police.
He admitted to assaulting the tourist with the skateboard and kneeing him in the face twice, claiming the tourist had been staring at his friend's gf and making advances on her and had also earlier been in a fight with his friend.
The tourist has yet to be interviewed by police to give his version of what led up to the assault.
