Why left own belongings unattended? That is the biggest mistake. By now the person who took it might have left Thailand in the next flight if she found the cash and valuable items inside it.

Isn't it funny how the foreign woman managed to pick a back full of goodies? Insurance scam?

She was down at the cheapo depot coupon eating area to where it is sort of a nut mad house as is very small to accomodate the groups of people, and then she left her bag(s) at the purchase counter whcih is just insode left to the door.

Food is not bad and best price though. I actually like to eat there.

Last time I was there a month ago there was a large group of Vietnamese that came in and it was packed with all sorts of people and I woulod not even leave my backpack at a table. Get food first, eat, need something be carefull and always look. That is a no no on her part as is right near the outside doors and lots of undesireable theifs can easily prey on folk who leave their guard down.

Just curious, but I am wondering if this is the work of a Chinese gang or Vietnamese gang that seem to trend on doing this sort of thing..

I enjoy how everyone is blaming the victim who lost her item to a thieving white woman. If it had been a black woman, your hatred, bitterness and racism would’ve been expressed vehemently. Castigate the thief, not the victim.

Opportunist thieves are everywhere. Just keep an eye on your things when traveling or your risk increases. Simple. The woman’s luggage was left in a bad place out of eyeshot. It might have been OK, but not this time.
I’m sure the CCTV Savior Police will track down the culprit. Too bad CCTV is after the fact. Don’t they have anyone watching monitors?

This has nothing to do with race. A thieve is a thieve and will be held accountable. A person who leaves his/her gold and important documents out of sight is an idiot.

You seem very committed y to o complain about Something else that is irrelevant in the posts!

Nothing to do with what collier anyone was or is?

Its about not leaving valuable items out of your site & not leaving you luggage at an Airport being a Security risk?

45 year old thinking a crowded airport with hundreds of people milling about is safe?   Please.

And 300,000 baht worth of valuables?  Wow!  I am over 60 and have never had valuables worth that much that would fit in a carry on.  Gold you can wear, diamonds you can wear, "designer handbags"? please

And on top of that stupidity to leave it unattended: Did she declare this wealthy load on arrival?

Yeah I wonder if customs made aware of these luxury items ? 555

Airports are supposed to be very keen on unattended luggage. Security usually reacts within 5 minutes. This suitcase was left for 20 minutes without anyone noticing? Weird.

Everyone’s missed the point here. A tourist stole her bag that had ฿300,000 of UNDECLARED luxury goods in it. What amazes me is how she claims the victim when she’s clearly broken customs laws by not declaring. How do I know? I don’t but it was never mentioned and the customs excise on it would’ve been huge. Thai Customs tried to extort ฿800 from me for a ฿2,000 order

I would guess the 300K is a figure for the insurance rather than the true value. If I had a bag with goods worth 300K in them would I leave them unattended for 20 minutes in a busy international airport? Not flipping likely!

First thing I thought😂

What happens next is that they've found the luggage, but how badly does she want it back. 😂

Leave the country over 300,000 baht worth of items? I'm not sure about that.

I left my Rolls Royce with the keys in the ignition outside the pub the other night.

To my absolute surprise when I finished drinking four hours later someone had taken it.

Now my question is, will my insurance company pay me for the car or will they refuse the claim because I didn't take the keys out and secure the car adequately.

I may be a victim of theft but I am also a victim of my own stupidity.

This is why people are blaming the person who left their bag unattended.

Also no-one except you has mentioned race as this has nothing to do with it.

You left out the part about how you told your friend from the local chop shop that you would be leaving it there and how he gave you a gift of half the value of the profit he got from selling the parts while you made the insurance claim...
