The director of a pro-e-cigarette group in Thailand believes legalizing the activity would not only lead to more control over vaping amongst the kingdom’s youth but make it safer than the dreaded cancer stick. A survey conducted by the National Statistical Office of Thailand last year found more than half of the kingdom’s 80,000 e-cigarette smokers were people aged between 15 to 24. With that survey in mind, Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul earlier this month stressed the need to continue banning e-cigarette imports to protect the nation’s teenagers from vaping health risks. The Director of ENDS Cigarette Smoke Thailand […]

"The Coalition of Asia Pacific Tobacco Harm Reduction Advocates (CAPHRA) noted Asia is making great strides in moving away from tobacco-based cigarettes and switching to safer nicotine products."

No one ever explains why it is okay to have nicotine products that addict a person for profit.

if you are going to quit smoking and break the nicotine addiction, then do so. Switching from one nicotine-delivery system to a different nicotine-delivery system makes no sense and solves little.

By the way, cigarette/vaping companies claim that vaping is 'safer'. Does anyone really believe that cigarette/vaping companies have your best interests at heart? Haven't we seen this before?

Quitting smoking and breaking the nicotine addiction is difficult, but it can be done. Yes, I did it.

As the man said...

Just do it.

The Director of ENDS Cigarette Smoke Thailand (ECST), Asa Saligupta,

Any guesses as to who may be financing Asa Saligupta?😆

a member of the International Network of Nicotine Consumer Organisations (INNCO) Governing Board.

International Network of Nicotine Consumer Organisations (INNCO) - TobaccoTactics

INNCO has a direct relationship with the Philip Morris International (PMI)

I know you were all surprised by that answer.🤣

Vaping is not safer than cigarettes. The chemicals released from vapes are the same or even worse. Vaping has become a menace in Thailand as so many young people are doing it without even realizing they are blowing smoke in your face. Venues that are officially smoking-free are no longer safe to breath in because vaping is allowed. Something needs to be done about this, don't care if it's by police fining and confiscating these cancer sticks, or venue owners realizing smoke-free is SMOKE FREE - including vapes.

This is absolute nonsense.

E-cigarettes have been recognised by independent ( not corrupted by industry money) British research to be 95% safer than smoking. Consequently, the use of vape products to reduce exposure to tobacco related harm is encouraged by ALL UK public health bodies and the NHS/quit services note that it works better than any other quit method.

Public Health England, now the UK Health Security Agency, outed claims that second hand vapour poses a risk to bystanders as a “myth”. Vaping is supported by all British cancer, anti-smoking, heart and lung charities.

Vaping does not cause cancer. Nicotine does not cause cancer. Smoking related cancer is caused by the tar and toxins found in cigarette smoke that isn’t present in vapour.

Finally, vapour is not smoke. Smoke is the byproduct of a combustion process - electronic cigarette contain no tobacco and the eliquid is not combusted. There is no carbon monoxide.

People who don't smoke still find it incredibly rude when some jerk is blowing huge vape clouds without caring where it goes

And vaping may be safer than cigarettes but it's not considered safe, by any means

Anything citing an establishment part funded by Michael Bloomberg can be discounted from the off - even if your link worked in the first place.

Vaping is “at least 95% safer than smoking”. This figure is reviewed annually by independent UK experts and has been accepted that the true figure approaches 99.7%. https://www.bmj.com/content/363/bmj.k5429

Articles from the USA don’t carry any weight due to the influence of both Bloomberg and the TMSA.

What your comment boils down to is “I don’t like it”. Well don’t do it then, and suck it up buttercup when others do, the world doesn’t revolve around you.

Anything that puts a harmful chemical in my body without my consent is not welcome.

You sound like a vaper, vaping stinks.

Good luck defending your beliefs on this.

A bit of intestinal fortitude and you wouldn't even be commenting on the subject.🙃
