Bingo! 10 months and he gets a special sentence reduction for being a good prisoner? Nope. He might have paid money for the status and it later backfired.

I believe that the term 'porridge' comes from an English term of 'doing porridge' as in 'doing time'.

Look up the British comedy staring Ronnie Barker called 'Porridge'.
