No Advil, No Tylenol? Where is the Asprin?

Recommended Posts

I had no clue that mild pain relievers for headaches are not over the counter here! Wow! I have to go see a doctor for a headache???

Has anyone located a work around over this from an online pharmacy?

I am searching like crazy, not seeing any shipping to Thailand.

Thanks

Greg, I'm confused by this

Anti inflammatory medication - NSAID's Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Celebrex & etc  are all available without prescription from  Pharmacies here.

I have to buy them with tedious regularity.

When you next come to Udon, I can tell you where the best & least expensive pharmacies are. There's a fantastic pharmacy - Somboon, just off Posri road, that is worth a visit should you need to stock up on dressings & so on.

Aspirin is widely available at practically every pharmacy. If you can't find it at a pharmacy, you can try looking for paracetamol (also known as Tylenol) at convenience stores like 7-11.

It's worth noting that Thai healthcare providers generally discourage the use of aspirin and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for general illness due to the increased risk of bleeding in people with dengue fever, which has high prevalence in Thailand. However, in reality, you can still buy aspirin, ibuprofen, and many other NSAIDs from virtually any pharmacy with little-to-no questions asked.

True that, instead they'll load you up with antibiotics that will have no affect on your condition whatsoever.
