Yesterday, several emotive but peaceful protests were held around Bangkok calling for Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to stand down. One protestor with a painted face stood outside Bangkok City Hall last night holding a sign that reads… “Let it stop at 8 years. The Prime Minister is unconstitutional! I’d like to see the PM respect the wishes of the voter because in the long run staying on as PM will only lose votes for his party at the next elections. 

That would be the elections held according to the constitution of Thailand which has been rewritten 20 times, curiously timed with military coups, the last of which was...well, we all know when. Fun fact. The PM may be suspended but he is still the Minister for Defence.
