Picking the Championship is like drawing numbers out of a hat. I can imagine a future post:

”Some high scores this week with most players hitting 30. Congratulations to @spicy_girl, who again top scores with 60”

On another note, I see that nobody noticed the Easter egg in the LPS excel sheet the past couple of weeks… on the hidden 23/24 tab 😁

Interesting run in to the final week's fixtures.

A foregone conclusion that Man City will be crowned Premiership champions again.
I'm sure they'd love to achieve this in front of their home crowd by defeating Chelsea this coming Sunday.

Arsenal admiral runners-up, but what about 3rd, 4th places to qualify for the Champions League.
Newcastle, Man Utd and a late revival of form by Liverpool all in contention, but who can hold their nerve and who may falter. Newcastle and Man Utd one point advantage with a game in hand over Liverpool.

Who's your prediction for 3rd and 4th places.

Remaining fixtures.
Newcastle v Brighton.
Newcastle v Leicester.
Chelsea v Newcastle.

Bournemouth v Man Utd.
Man Utd v Chelsea.
Man Utd v Fulham.

Liverpool v Aston Villa.
Southampton v Liverpool.

Newcastle and Man Utd require 6 points from their remaining 3 fixtures to ensure Champions League football next season, whilst if Liverpool slip up, Brighton could usurp them to 5th and qualify for the Europa League, although Brighton have yet to play Newcastle and Man City.

Crunch game for me in deciding final league positions > Newcastle v Brighton.

At the other end of the table, the relegation battle continues.
With Southampton already relegated, the question is who will join them.

I earlier predicted 36 points would see safety, and I'll stick with that, meaning West Ham are safe.

That leaves;
Nottingham Forrest  - 34 points.
Everton - 32 points.
Leeds Utd  - 31 points.
Leicester City - 30 points.

Remaining fixtures;
Nottingham Forrest v Arsenal.
Crystal Palace v Nottingham Forrest.

Wolves v Everton.
Everton
v Bournemouth.

West Ham v Leeds Utd.
Leeds Utd v Tottenham.

Newcastle Utd v Leicester.
Leicester v West Ham.

Based on my own prediction of 36 points meaning safety from relegation, Notts F require 2 points, Everton 4 points, Leeds 5 points, and Leicester 6 points.

Assessing the remaining fixtures, I can state with an air of confidence, that unfortunately, Leicester will almost certainly be relegated. Off the remaining 3 teams, I believe Everton can possibly get 4 points from their fixtures, leaving the remaining relegation place between Notts F and Leeds Utd.

Recently, Notts F have shown resilience and the will to battle, achieving a better average points tally over the last few games than their adversaries. For that reason, I'll go for them to survive, whilst Leeds unfortunately will join Southampton and Leicester in the Championship League next season.

What are your thoughts on who'll stay up, and who's going down?

I might consider running a Champions League competition next season in the same manner as the World Cup was run, but only if there is enough interest.

Leicester look shot, unfortunately. I think Everton and Leeds will stay up. Goal difference might come back to bite Forest.

Another question is who’s going up. Burnley, Sheffield United and…? Perhaps Middlesbrough or (heaven forbid) Sunderland.

Could be 3 northern teams going up. 3 relegated teams from the south and midlands (maybe). The Toon have also emerged this season as a genuine force.

Premier League power is trending northward…

I fancy Forrest to beat or at least draw with Crystal Palace and secure their place in the Premiership.
I just think it's a bridge to far to expect Leeds to get 4 points from their remaining fixtures, but footballs a funny old game.
