Except if you watch Thai travel videos where they go to foreign countries, the Thais are still wearing masks, even if the locals don't. For instance, in Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos. Yes, there is still some mask wearing in those countries (recently, it's increased a little again in Vientiane) but it's still far less than in Thailand.

Thailand has become the new Japan. A country with a ridiculous mask fetish.

You've got that the wrong way round. Helmets save lives, not masks. The mask wearing is the result of a campaign of fear mongering and brainwashing, the likes of which I've never seen anywhere else in the world. Where else are masks worn on screen but in Thailand?
