An elderly woman near Bangkok has died of Covid-19 after a hospital declined her family’s request for an ambulance. The incident happened in Nonthaburi, a province bordering Bangkok. A foundation that tried to help the 82 year old woman said that she had several health other conditions as well. These included diabetes, high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease among others. The woman found out she was infected with Covid-19 on July 10, although she was asymptomatic. The woman found out she was infected with Covid-19 on July 10, although she was asymptomatic.

Well, that's consistent with another interpretation: that she didn't have COVID, but a PCR test came back with a meaningless "positive" result. That's what PCR tests definitely will do if you tell them to perform enough cycles.

A very sick 82 year old woman passed away. That is a sad thing, but life expectancy in Thailand is apparently about 78 years.

RIP Pi Granny. But Thaiger, it's shameful to try to wring another drop of COVID milk out of this event.

I feel sorry for her, and her family.

But: 'A foundation that tried to help the 82 year old woman said that she had several health other conditions as well. These included diabetes, high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease among others.'

Did she die because of asymptomatic Covid? Or because of one of her apparently many other diseases?

....or the random and trivial nature of the story?

Flip a coin

Cause of death was from underlining conditions or asymtomatic  conditions.

82 years old exceeds normal life expectancy.

Goverment and media stop scaring people.

People do die from other medical issues.

My guess, an ATK test did the result.  Or do you think, some PCR testing was done in the bed room of that old lady? R.i.P.

There’s a lot to unpack from this story but bed ridden and kidney disease sounds like hospice/palliative end of life care. But the media sensationalize about not sending an ambulance.

Also if she’s asymptomatic then she didn’t die of COVID, at best she died with covid. But honestly it’s very odd to be asymptomatic at that age.
