JMJM Posted July 14, 2022 #230851 Share Posted July 14, 2022 (edited) Quote two months ago, Thai netizens praised a school lunch from Baan Sai Nam Phueng School in the central province of Uthai Thani. Students and staff at Baan Sai Nam Phueng School were served fries, pizzas, fried chicken, and salads. A Baan Sai Nam Phueng School teacher made it known her budget was only 370 baht for 60 tray First, if you want Thai kids to look like roly-poly American kids, that's exactly the way to go about it. Second, for those of us who can divide, we immediately noticed that 370 divided by 60 would be only a little over 6 baht per tray, which is obviously incorrect and impossible. Still, must have cost a lot more than 370 baht, or was it out of date stuff from the waste container?

Pizza (bread, tomato sauce, shrimp, pineapple, other toppings) is something that can be eaten in moderation as part of a balanced diet. They're not eating half a pizza, loaded with extra cheese, nor are they having it every day. Even a small portion of french fries could be ok - have you seen the way Thais make a fried egg swimming in a pool of palm oil? If that's ok, then a handful of french fries isn't going to be a problem. I suppose we could feed them a "healthy" diet of tofu, lettuce wedges and pomelo rinds but what's the point if they don't eat it? Give them something they'll eat and keep them active.
