Thailand’s cabinet is making it a priority to support development in the country’s Andaman provinces of Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi, Trang, and Satun. The budget of 338.8 million baht will go towards 6 projects in environmental and tourism development. So that’s around £8m. 30%-50% will be skimmed and hence leave around £4m to £5.5m. Wow, watch out the rest of the world. The Andaman sea cost is about to become the number one high spending eco-friendly tourist destination. If it was £338.8m then I would be impressed and hope to see tangible improvements.

The sad thing is Thailand has such a great opportunity to make the seaside areas better, safer, cleaner... But it always gets squandered in corruption
