The Tourism and Sports Ministry yesterday revealed that they need more time before the 300 baht tourism fee is introduced. The tourism fee was penciled in for discussion at this week’s cabinet meeting but the ministry withdrew the proposal. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Tourism and Sports Minister, says fee collection for tourists arriving by land requires further study. “We have to determine if the fee amount should be less than 300 baht because the average length of stay for these visitors is only 1-2 nights.” Phiphat added the ministry plans to resubmit the proposal to the cabinet within the next two months, […]
