News Forum - Massage gets a rub down: Thailand cracks whip on shady parlours
More and more people in the west are realising exactly that fact - Government organisations and public servants do not solve problems - they 'feed' off them and grow and grow. I recall an episode of Yes Minister where Humphrey was reading of a list of documented 'social welfare problems' in each District/Town that was listed in a proposal for the Govt to employ another few thousand social workers. There was one District/Town that had hardly any on the list and the Minister asked how they dealt with the problem so well. Humphrey's pointed out that they had very few social workers and social workers always 'found or created' social welfare problems. The Minister was shocked and did not believe it, so Humphrey read off the list again against how many social workers were employed by the Govt in each District/Towns. The more social workers that worked in each place, the more social problems were documented. When the Minister said "Well lets sack them all and solve the problem' Humphrey suggested that they 'discussed' it for a while first. Humphrey convinced the Minister that the downsides of that action, in terms of media attention and negative popularity from social workers marching the streets, with the elections coming up soon, would be very negative. But Humphrey added that it would certainly solve all the social welfare problems - did he wish to go ahead and do that? The Minister said with a very sad face - 'No - not right now Humphrey - maybe another time'. As usual the show ended with Humphries saying 'Yes Minister'. Government Organisations and Public Servants do not solve anything. Start giving out money in Thailand for people unemployed and girls having kids with no father, and this country will be worse than the worst black ghettos in USA. Social welfare programs are what is destroying Great Britain and much of Europe - unless that cancer is removed, they are doomed. I pray Thailand rejects that western social welfare BS, and that Pita and his idiots Party never get into power.
