People in Phuket could go to the beach, public parks and stadiums mask-free for the first time in years. Two days later, Phuket governor Narong Woonciew reversed the decision and ordered everyone in Phuket to put their […]

And …… Broke the law.

‘As it is still against the law to do what he did in a crowded environment. Will he get fined again?

He should be fined extra and jailed, he made the laws. Go to Jail do not pass go.

Minor detail: it's not a crowded environment in his immediate vicinity, but you're absolutely right in the other aspects since the law doesn't have that criterium.

So he decided to violate his own law to get some applause and -- more importantly -- news coverage, and for a while he'll try to accumulate credits for acting against and finally retracting a law he himself introduced, and then use that as leverage in popularity polls (mostly involving people whose span of attention can be measured in mere months). On the positive side: it could be used as a lesson at kindergarten-level to explain the game of politics.

PS: perhaps that was a bit too heavy... Being about to retract a rule (at least, that was suggested) is a good thing, it's just b) the dramatics involved and a) the fact that it distracts from the fact that it doesn't mean 1 iota with regards to cancelling the emergency decree as a whole that annoy me. It could be just me, but I don't see the emergency around anymore, and therefore no (valid) reason to maintain the power to be able to adjust laws at a whim.

Doesn't he hear people talk? Are you ready? People were ready a year ago!

Some of the people left on The Thaiger tho, are probably booing him now and shout that they aren't ready 😂😂😂

"" Are you ready?” asked the unmasked Prime Minister, igniting cheers and applause from the crowd at the Thailand Tourism Congress 2022 held at Beyond Resort Kata Hotel."

He just said “Are you ready?“ without saying anything else. He was probably just hot and wanted to take it off. Some police should have walked to him and fine him because apparently it's still necessary to wear one.

But nothing else was said? Still clear as mud.
