Thailand’s airline Thai AirAsia X has launched flights from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport to Seoul’s Incheon International Airport in South Korea. The route will take place 3 times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The first flight on the new route landed in Seoul yesterday, June 1. Always good news to hear about more inexpensive international flights.

Buyer beware. To anyone who purchases a ticket and is then  stranded when the airline collapses, it's your own doing. Don't expect a government to rescue you. Thai Air Asia X is bankrupt. This means it has financial problems. The airline should never have been allowed to  add routes without posting a financial guarantee that would cover airfares paid in advance for a period of time. The airline doesn't have a stated  terminal space at ICN so until it does, its musical terminals which can screw up travel plans. 

In it's weakened condition,  the airline is more likely to go bankrupt again than to hit the jackpot. When an airline is bankrupt and suspends operations, the tickets previously sold lose all value because they are for non existent travel.  There are no protections for customers in such an event. No other airline is obliged to honour the ticket. Look at what happened when other airlines went bankrupt: passengers were stranded.  Ignore those who say you can claim the airfare back against the credit card. that's not what happened  with most of the major airlines when  Covid forced cancellations: No refunds, just travel credit in the future under strict conditions. past bankruptcies have left cheap seat fare holders with no refunds. Look at the  Air Asia customer service standard too.

My missus booked her flight back from Australia last week, $1280, The last one way flight cost $700. $1200 used to be a return flight, Just glad she is back and then we can fly local.
