Officials from the ministry said they would send a specialist to the school to give teachers and students advice on how to leave peacefully with the monkeys.

Enough of the monkey business....just get rid of the alpha males from screwing around first. Then focus on the females. It is time that the authorities took some serious steps to introduce reproduction control measures to these creatures.....

Having taught at Promma more than a decade ago am not surprised the monkeys are still a problem.  They tried the 'other species' solution when I was there but that had no affect.  The local monkeys live right next to the school on 'monkey mountain' and visit every day for fruit from campus trees and for garbage snacks.  During my time there monkey-proof garbage cans were suggested but never implemented.  The 'other species' monkeys were brought in and the local monkeys initially spent some time looking at them but realized quickly the 'other species' were in cages and going nowhere.  Funny that they are trying that again ... history repeating itself ... and likely to no avail.

I seriosuly hate monkeys like this. Ever since I went to Bali over 30 years ago and I had a confrontation with one of these little devil beasts I have hated them ever since. Give me a chimpanzee any day. I would slam that little MF myself. Good for the kid to do that.

They are, and have always been, a much bigger problem and a more dangerous one than soi dogs.

The animals  are like that because of the humans. If the humans did not feed them and ignored them, the problem would be managed. It is no different than the idiots who visit national parks in USA and Canada, leave their vehicles to feed bears and then complain when a bear charges them or harasses them when they are camping.   What is not mentioned as to what the 15 year old did previously to the interaction with the animal.

Why? Thai primates  do not act as a reservoir of the virus.  Thais do not eat African squirrels or Gambian pouched rats, which act as the virus reservoir. If Monkeypox comes to Thailand it will most likely come from European tourist since it is difficult for Nigerians and CAR nationals to enter Thailand.

It does seem to be the case - most times you hear of these monkeys behaving aggressively is it from somewhere where they have got used to being fed.

Those type of monkeys are always into something. They are just never scared of humans

They sent somebody to teach how to handle those monkeys how about send some body to teach normal school lessons teach them how to count and normal education but i think the elite not want them to smart and they succeed really well in accomplish that goal

FFS Thai monkeys do not carry Monkey pox! It's an African disease stoop spreading misinformation and stupid media hype! The only way that Thai monkeys will get monkey pox is if an infected human starts raping Thai monkeys...
