Nok Air’s flights between Bangkok and Betong, in the southernmost province of Yala, could be in jeopardy, as the carrier considers its options. The struggling low-cost airline is incurring financial losses on the Don Mueang to Betong route, according to Nok Air CEO, Wutthiphum Jurangkool. The Aviation authorities should tie the BKK- Betong route together with another profitable route that Nok Air is given license to operate. Nok Air cannot look for profit in all the routes. Some they make and some they have to bear the costs. End of the day it is the overall profitability of the company that matters not individual route. BKK- Korat route is one of the profitable route for Nok Air. It would be competitive enough to bind these two routes under one operating license and let the winner take it....be it Nok Air or other competitors.
