They've announced that the boarder is opened, that's why people have "forgotten" they need Thailand Pass

All except Malaysian and Thai nationals can only enter via Sadao. Other land crossing between the two countries are restricted for them. By the way...once in Sadao, if tested positive are they allowed to return back to Malaysia or Quarantine in Thailand....that is the catch here......better to wait till they drop everything

Anybody in this forum who has tried crossing the land border from Thailand to Malaysia? Just wondering it is required to be onboard a vehicle with Thailand registration or is it possible to walk over the border, clear yourself through immigration and just hail a van or bus at the Malaysian side of the border?

Yes you can cross the border on foot.

If you like the heat and do not have heavy luggage you can walk. Under this hot weather, I would take one of those hire motorcycle after Thai customs to Malaysia customs for about 15 to 20 baht. Distance is about 800m to 1km roughly. This is for Dannok customs to KKB customs.

please can anyone advise where to get a pcr test in hat yai, and if I'm able to cross the border to malaysia here?
