Thaidup Posted March 31, 2022 #186575 Share Posted March 31, 2022 A newbie to the forum lead me to want to start this thread, Just by mentioning 'classic cars' , Thailand is a depository of so many old and rusted out old classic cars from mk1 Ford Escorts to Alfa Romeo 2000 coupes, Me being an Aussie have to post a pic of what I used to drive in my late teens, now considered a classic in Australia and worth 30 times what I paid back then Quote Link to comment https://talk.thethaiger.com/topic/12795-classic-cars/ Share on other sites
Thaidup Posted March 31, 2022 Author #186598 Share Posted March 31, 2022 Just an example of what little jems one can find in Thailand, Can you tell what car this is? I tried to contact them but it was already sold, from about 8 years ago. 1 Quote Link to comment https://talk.thethaiger.com/topic/12795-classic-cars/#findComment-186598 Share on other sites

Most iconic cars I have owned have been an original HK GTS 327 Monaro then a ground up rebuild of a HQ one tonner with a WB front clip, GTS dash, built 350 and Turbo 400 that ate diffs. Then my first company car came along and giving my monthly salary to engine and speed shops, petrol stations and fines became less appealing. Switched to the bikes and the best were an original Katana 1000 spoked wheel model and an insane, fully worked Yamaha RD350 LC. Lost my license for 3 years and that was that. Back in the day, my cousin owned an original Phase III and wrapped it around a bus stop and a tree. Sold the wreck for pesos. That man has some regrets :-) Edited April 1, 2022 by Fanta 1 Quote Link to comment https://talk.thethaiger.com/topic/12795-classic-cars/#findComment-186638 Share on other sites

A few of them made it across the border it seems. Quote Link to comment https://talk.thethaiger.com/topic/12795-classic-cars/#findComment-347351 Share on other sites
Sparrows Posted December 8, 2023 #350015 Share Posted December 8, 2023 Anyone seen any other old classics around? I saw two Mark 1 Cortinas on the same day in Trang a few years back, then an old Mercury, left hand drive and very dusty, spoke to the owner, he was very animated about it but I couldn’t follow what he was saying. I wonder how it got to Thailand. Quote Link to comment https://talk.thethaiger.com/topic/12795-classic-cars/#findComment-350015 Share on other sites
