What did you listen to today?
Ditto - and the same for most of us. What was what we thought it was - was not. Being financially raped (divorced) caused it for a lot of Expats. Thailand does have everything - all that you could want and need. I wish I knew it 30-40 years ago.- 1

When 'artists' went from doing this for MTV to actually doing it on stage, that was like the moment what Don McLean called 'the day the music died'. Unlike the sudden deaths of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and JP Richardson, the death of live on stage (real) music happened slowly over a period of time - but die it did.- 1

News Forum - Thailand prepares final strategy for Deep South peace
Agree 100%. History proves that. And like Sun Tzu said "If peace cannot be negotiated, the focus should be on understanding the enemy's strengths and weaknesses, and then finding a way to defeat them." Ban Islam as a violent cult, tear down all the Mosques, ban Muslims immigrating, deport all that are not citizens, encourage all the others to leave. By the way - if you did not know - that is exactly what Russia and China do, and they have both been around a lot longer than us and know exactly how to deal with them - keep them out - make them stay in their own 'sheet ole countries'. "What comes from the slums and garbage dumps of the World, is incompatible with the organised and civilised parts of the World" - Aussie Bob. Or as someone else once said - "One rotten apple will destroy the whole barrel".- 1

News Forum - Quake-hit Bangkok site turns crime scene as 2 more bodies found
Yes you are correct - but at least they might reduce it. What happened to Ferrari Joe and the Red Bull murder, has definitely had an impact on the Police. If someone big goes down for this, then that will have an effect across all Government contracting. Remember that in our society we were also totally corrupt many years ago - we still have it too, but not on the endemic level as in Thailand/Asia. We changed - slowly - things happened and punishments and enforcement slowly increased and change occurred. If you did not know (most do not) that the construction of Government Buildings does not come under the same system of controls, approvals and standards, as does for commercial and residential buildings. The other buildings come under the Bangkok Govt management (BMA I think), but Government constructions come under the Audit Office. I think that is because they wanted national standards for Govt buildings and not allow each Province toset and manage to different standards. This is another example of the systemic structural problems in Thailand - the Provinces have far too much authority and control over things, and they are far more easily corrupted and 'influenced'.
