After two weeks, the ban will be reevaluated. Even though Thailand has allowed bars to reopen as temporary restaurants, Khon Kaen enforces stricter laws, and doesn’t even allow restaurants to serve alcohol. Alcohol can still be bought in grocery stores, though. Khon Kaen’s ban from all restaurants first started on February 23. The governor decided to continue the ban due to the number of Covid-19 cases being high in the province. The governor added […]

Civid seems to be unabated in the provinces. If anything it seems to have spread far and wide. Now is the time for caution.

As we all know... alcohol stirs up covid to a rampart beast... eat all you want in a crowded restaurant but it's the alcohol that spreads covid.

yet Khon Kaen covid numbers are climbing higher every day...

Part of the problem mate is that the same old nonsense continues. Governor imposes alcohol ban and yet all the bars and restaurants in Khon Kaen are serving alcohol. I have a couple of friends in KK and and they regularly go out in the evening and post pictures of bars with signs saying “No Alcohol” and inside they are serving beer in plastic cups. The Thai bars are open and alcohol is flowing every night. The police know it and are part of the corruption and so it goes on.

Im due to visit Khon Kaen soon. Will be interesting to see how well the no alcohol ban is being enforced. From what I hear, it isn’t. A total waste of time.

Exactly. So it’s impossible to say that Alcohol bans or any other measures don’t work because look at X,Y,Z location in Thailand. Khon Kaen cases are going up because apart from mask wearing and the closure of nightclubs, life is more or less back to normal.
