Plenty of thais used to work in saudi before the incident in the 80's put a stop to it.

It was considered fairly good well paid work by many and there was never a shortage of applicants.there was a lot less work about in early 80s thailand particularly in rural areas and unemployment was common.

Now due to the pandemic there has to be fairly high unemployment again.

I won't be surprised to see thais in desired occupations returning to the middle east again.

Thais don’t have to go to Saudi Arabia if they don’t want to so just stop with the poor little slaves routine please. imo, the Thai workers biggest threat of financial extortion is the Thais that ship them there.
