How is that difficult?

Hire them as traditional workers for the dayjob in that tourist location. Like it is in many countries.

Pay them a salary and build a living quarter some 100meters way, where they can spend the dakary in rent.

it's not as simple as it seems. Tourism  in general is a  pest and...... a moneymaker. If Tourism targets a particular area you can say goodbye to the locals, their culture and even their land. If i compare the Kao San Road 40 years ago with before the Pandemic i see a total destruction of local customs, life and culture making place for ignorant Tourists. There seems to be no remedy for this, just ask the jamunami in the Amazone Forest how they feel, There it's not yet Tourism but simply destroying their habitat for profit. Of course they will never see the profit and even risk to get killed if they oppose,

Yes, but if they hire the people, to "play" the people, they are now, the tourism gets what it want, the Mani can have a living, and there is no need for a real roof on that house, since it is only in use in working hours!

As an open air museum

Sure, you can watch this "Muppet Show for Tourists" since decades in Hawaii at the Polynesian Cultural Center. It didn't help the idigineous people to prevent their lifestyle and culture being destroyed by friggin Tourists. How about calling it Disney Land instead !
