PayPal has confirmed its services in Thailand will be suspended from March 7 as it reviews its agreements in order to comply with Thai regulations. Speaking to the Bangkok Post, a spokesperson said consumers, sole proprietors, and freelancers will be affected by the move for a time. “We have already opened account registration for registered businesses and continue the process of transferring existing registered business customers to PayPal Thailand. Thailand saying MOVE FORWARD all the time, this is not moving forward this is a mayor step back online is the future, ends up like INDIA, and they want to get freelancers in Thailand.... ????? bad move BACKWARDS!

PayPal has been operating in Thailand without an FX licence for awhile. They where warned they would be shut down unless they started verification of users identity. These types of services operating in THA all need to verify the identity of users to prevent money laundering. If you open a Wise account, the same holds true.

paypal thailand did do verification like in other countries, but government is aimed to collect  taxes, this just does not work as we not able to buy anything outside of thailand with paypal thailand... USELESS
