What's your views on Phuket Old Town?

Hello.

I'm thinking of staying in Phuket Old Town. However, I'm curious what people like and dislike about Phuket Old Town?

It's a very interesting part of town,  with a few good places to eat.

But get ready for the Chinese photo shoots all over the place

 

Most don't even bother checking out the shops

They just go to take pictures 

 

But I guess that's positive

The shops aren't that busy

I was based there for five weeks in 2005 on a work trip. Was pleasant enough. I stayed in an apartment on Yaowarat Rd. There was a huge beer garden place called “E-Sarn Terrace” or something similar which I frequented every other day. Transport to the beaches and nightlife was the only drag after a while but overall, I liked it.

2 hours is enough. I wouldn't want to stay there. 

Nice enough though.
