The Public Health Ministry is working with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to prepare treatment and isolation facilities for young children infected with Covid-19. According to a Thai PBS World report, officials are anticipating a surge in infections in the young. Dr. Adisai Pattanatang from The Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health says the facility can accommodate young Covid-infected patients from the ages of 5 – 11. It's a bit of a paradox.....children are our future, but they are the last to be vaccinated. While it's true that they will experience milder symptoms or no symptoms from Omicron, the still need to be vaccinated as a priority. They will be carriers of Omicron to adults and elderly people. So if you want to slow the spread of Omicron, get the children vaccinated as soon as it's possible.

I see your point but as you rightly state kids tend to not have serious symptoms so I would rather see those vaccines going to vulnerable groups in third world counties as a priority.

Agreed - if they're contagious with or without being vaccinated, and they're unlikely to become ill they can't really be a priority.

Better to give a third dose to those who need it at home, and to the vulnerable abroad, as you say.
