We have yet another new variant!

This time, it has a much more manly name. This one sounds robust, almost like a superhero character. It'll have people running for the hills to get their 4th & 5th booster...

Ok, enough of the jokes.

Why is it that we've had 'flu, Chickenpox, Mumps etc etc, but none of them, not one, seem to have mutated?

Corona has, & a whole new way of life is being introduced & billions being made, by not only pharmaceutical companies, but by others such as masks, gel & so on.

I just feel a bit cynical about all this - as some of you may know, so I'm not going to regurgitate, what I've posted before, on the thread that dare not speak it's name.

Chicken Pox stays with you for life, it can show itself at anytime, the reappearance is called Shingles.

Same with Herpes Simplex, stays with you for life and shows itself when it feels like it.

I have an overactive immune system, another thing that can stay with you for life, in my case showing up as Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis. 

Thankfully, the pharmaceutical companies have come up with relief products, but as yet no cure.

With Covid, we have the anti-vax crowd going on about the pharmaceuticals making money, so what, if they weren't, many of us sufferers of whatever would be dead, suicidal or just spend live a life in pain. Now, do these anti's folk complain about the price of Viagra and the new lease of live the drug has given them..

PS. Your photo, I would be more concerned about the others who are not wearing masks, or the bloke wiv his nose hanging out....

I posted this Deltacron in mention yesterday along with the IHU variant. Too early to tell and if you read today some of the science quacks are thinking it is actually a double infection that shows up Delta and Omnicron in the test, and so we have the name. In the same post I also mentioned that the white tailed deer in the USA are contracting covid from the humans, and this is a big concern now for it mutating.

I do not wear a mask at my PC, why, because my house is on the edge of a lake looking at water, plus, I have no neighbours either side or at the rear. I also do not wear a mask in my car.

But, when I am out I am very careful who is nearby, and I always wear a mask except when out sipping a beer, but goes straight back on if an ass_ole is not following sensible procedures.

And you think a piece of paper or cotton will protect you. I would have thought that of you were so concerned about your fellow man you would not go to the pub and risk spreading or contacting  COVID....oh I forgot you wear a mask.

About me, I wear a mask when I have to and only because those are the rules here, and remember the people that were hiding Anne Frank in WW2 were breaking the rules and the people that killed her were following the rules.

Richie Allen has said quite recently that there is a 'DaddyLongLegs' variant on the way. Not sure if that if one long word or three. But in any case that's hardly important.

Daddy Long Legs is an insect that arrives all over South East England during particular times of the year. The tragedy is that this wonderful example of nature only lives for a short period of time. Roughly 30 hours; although I'll not put my money on that being exactly the duration of life. Could be slightly more or less. But, not as short, as say lightening; but a 'Flash of Lightening' variant wouldn't be taken seriously.

The reason the Richie said what he did, was to emphasise the short-lived nature of the variant. I get his drift. Not really sensible calling a variant the 'Oak Tree' variant. That would never go away. And the whole idea or variants - not forgetting that they are all essentially from the same virus (Merscov19) - is that they come, and then they go. Not so easy to explain to school kids, or indeed the public generally, that the virus has little or nothing to do with acorns.

As I remarked at the time, Essex people were beside themselves with jealously when the 'Kent' variant arrived. No-matter how much they searched there was no 'Rochford' or 'Dagenham Dock' variants to be found.

The Omicron variant seems to be losing its potency, and a new one will be along shortly. I suggest 'Mumbo' as the name. Easy to say and spell, and has undoubted meaning; so respect is already established.
