I lived in NYC for 13 years, go there every 3 months

When I get off the subway, I never know what the "SE Corner of 57th" will take me

 

And in Vancouver people are always giving me "it's east, etc" 

I ain't Magellan and don't have a compass!  555

My wife and I used to argue about directions. She likes landmarks and I like cardinal directions. I would ask “Should I walk east or west?” and she’d say “Look for the small cake shop and from there, head for the traffic lights”. 

Lots of miscommunications in the early days but we have both improved over the years

I LOVE giving directions!!

Love it!!

If I see people looking at a map I will go up to them 100 out of 100x and ask if they need help 

 

Drives my wife crazy

I have wondered all my life how all Americans and Canadians always seem to know what direction they are heading.

One friend we did many roadtrips with had an LED compass in his 4x4 and II used to cover it with my hand and ask him what our heading was. He was never wrong! Spooky.

Well I'm an American living in Canada and don't know shit about east/west, etc  5555

I do pretty much the same and then my wife gives me negative feedback on the quality of my directions
