Last night, despite fears of the Covid-19 Omicron variant, people all over Thailand celebrated the New Year with parties, events, and loads of fireworks. While many official government events were cancelled in provinces throughout the country and in the capital city, private events were permitted to continue with tightened Covid-19 restrictions. Many fireworks displays in Hua Hin up and down the coast. Thousands of people out on the beaches NYE. 

Last night the big food court was packed with people. nowhere to park my scooter. nowhere to sit. 

Same at many restaurants. Bluport and Market Village Malls stuffed with people.  

Road near gridlock NYE from north and south Hua Hin all the way through town. same last night going north. had to go out into opposite traffic to make any progress on my scooter. Anything to keep from falling asleep.
