Firstly, it is a good thing that Thailand can provide refuge to Burmese fleeing this conflict. That is critical under the circumstances. Secondly, it would be good for the Thai Government to be a force for peace in Burma! There is a lot that can be done by a neighbour before the international community make a response. I can only hope this conflict doesn't end up in an all out civil war..

Firstly: If one navigates real contemporary Thai history, you'll be finding that they don't have a shining reputation of treating neighboring war-torn refugees very nicely.

Further on: The Thai establishment, historically, has been an admirer of the decades long Burman regimes, maintaining/supporting "friendly relations" [sort to speak].

Finally: What is an International Community? A bogus ideal?

This is certainly not fine.

Thailand can take definite measures to force Myanmar, the world closed its eyes.

Poor people, deprived of justice, democracy.

World super powers are waiting and watching like hungry crocs.

An Buddhist country, mostly poor general population.
