An outdoor movie theatre was set up at a graveyard in the central province Prachinburi, but the films weren’t playing for the living. The movies were intended to entertain the spirits. The owner of a local movie theatre wanted to make an offering to his ancestors and others buried at the cemetery. But only those vaccinated are permitted entry and have to abide by strict COVID19 laws and guidelines …. Especially wearing of masks and proper social distancing.

Can the people who make fun of other people's religious beliefs tone it down a bit? In many Western countries, we do not burn but bury the dead and put a little garden with trees and flowers upon each single grave. Below, corpses decay in expensive wooden boxes. Arguably, people from other countries or with different religious beliefs could call us "stupid", too.

I was thinking more along the lines of The Great Escape or Escape From Alcatraz, to try and give the 'residents' some ideas.
A bottle of whisky would entertain the 'spirits'.

I think this is one of those "only in Thailand" stories. In the context of beliefs and his occupation, it's the best thing he can do to make merit for loved ones. I've see plenty of different ways to show respect and affection. Some will see it as crazy...others will see it as respect for the dead.

Just took the ex to the double feature--Ghost and Night of the Living Dead.....no loving from the back seat
